How We Verify

We’re independent. We label what we know, when we learned it, and what still needs confirmation.

Last-updated principle

Every listing shows the most recent check we performed—if it’s stale, we say so.

Confirmed

Verified through primary signals

  • • Host directly confirmed date/time/location or league results.
  • • Cross-checked against the venue page, organizer post, or official signup link.
  • • Any changes are timestamped as a new update.
Updated

Edited since first publish

  • • We corrected details (time, format, rules, prize notes) based on new info.
  • • The page keeps the newest status—older details are not presented as current.
  • • If a key detail can’t be rechecked, we mark it accordingly.
Verify with Host

Likely accurate, not yet confirmed

  • • Details come from prior patterns or public posts without a fresh confirmation.
  • • We include what we have, but encourage a quick host check before you go.
  • • This label is used when timing is sensitive (holiday weeks, venue changes).

What we won’t do

We don’t accept paid placement in verification labels. Sponsorship never changes whether something is confirmed or needs a host check.

We also avoid publishing personal contact details without permission. See Privacy & names.

Privacy approach

Names, standings, and personal info

Gametopia Chronicles covers adult tabletop meetups and league recaps. We keep coverage useful without exposing private details. Our default is to minimize identifying info unless someone explicitly opts in.

What we publish (default)

  • First name + last initial (e.g., “Dana K.”) or a neutral label (e.g., “Player A”).
  • Format details (game title, ruleset, league week) and high-level outcomes.
  • Venue names only when they are public and used for regular events.

What we do not publish

  • Private contact info (phone numbers, personal emails, home addresses).
  • Non-public group chats, invite links, or member rosters.
  • Full legal names in standings unless the player provided clear permission.

Standings: anonymized by default

League tables and weekly leaderboards may be summarized without directly identifying players. If a league prefers public standings, we’ll only switch to named entries when the organizer confirms participants have opted in.

If we receive partial lists from hosts, we’ll keep the same privacy posture and avoid “reverse-identifying” details.

Corrections

Request a change, and how we document it

Gametopia Chronicles is independent and verification-minded. If we get a date, host, format, location detail, or recap outcome wrong, we want to fix it quickly and transparently.

How to request a correction

  1. 1Use our contact page: contact.html (or email contact@domain.com).
  2. 2Include the page link and the exact line/section to change, plus what it should say.
  3. 3Add supporting info when possible (e.g., organizer note, public venue post, league standings screenshot, or a second witness).

What we can correct

  • Meetup details: date/time, venue, host name (with permission), format, buy-in/fee notes.
  • Recap facts: winners/standings, pairings summary, rules clarifications, attendance counts when sourced.
  • Context and sourcing: broken links, misattributed quotes, or missing attribution.

Response time & outcomes

Acknowledgement

Typically within 2 business days. If we need more context, we’ll ask targeted follow-up questions.

Update window

Most factual fixes are posted within 5 business days once verified; time-sensitive items may be prioritized.

If we cannot verify a claim, we may (a) leave the original text unchanged, (b) add clarifying context, or (c) note that details are disputed. Our verification approach is described in How We Verify.

Disclaimers

A few notes to keep expectations clear for meetup listings, recaps, and venue details.

Independent coverage

Gametopia Chronicles is an independent journal for adult tabletop communities. Mentions of venues, games, organizers, or formats are informational and not endorsements unless explicitly stated. Sponsors (if any) do not control what we publish.

Details can change

Meetup times, hosts, table caps, formats, and entry requirements may change without notice. Always confirm with the organizer or venue before traveling. We aim to post updates quickly, but our listings may lag real-time changes.

Age and venue policies (21+ where required)

Some events take place at bars, breweries, or venues with age restrictions. Where a venue requires it, attendance is 21+ and valid ID may be needed. If an event is hosted in a mixed-use space, the venue’s rules still apply for that date and area.

Request a correction

If you spot an error (date, location, host name, age policy, or attribution), please use our correction flow. We may ask for a source link or a screenshot to verify the change.

For legal terms and required notices, see Policies. If you’re submitting a meetup or recap, please review How we verify first.
